This is the most amazing journal entry ever, ilu Jate.

I can't really add much to it, except in the way of using premade things (dollmakers like Candybar for example, or 3D models that have done all the work for you) and calling it art--or even worse, selling commissions using said premade things. I can understand just having fun with it, but when you're actively getting a profit and not much of the work is done by you...

Maybe I've just gotten too rigid in what I think is acceptable and what isn't? XD

In my 5 years now on dA, I've seen a lot of things. A lot of users, and a lot of how users treat each other.

It's appalling, really. deviantArt is supposed to be a community of artists, and yet people treat people like shit all the time.

So here. Some observations on things I've seen. These aren't attacks on people, nor am I harassing these people. Not all of it is negative, promise!

I'm going to say this to my watchers right now: please don't go messing with these people because of this entry.

To those I'm mentioning my observations on: no, I'm not taking you down; this is my journal and not yours. If you happen to feel embarrassed (or angry) that you're up here--perhaps you should reevaluate your actions?

*bekuki is awesome, full stop. *setsu-p is too, as well as *leichan, ~andimccloud, ~Tofubeast and ~rise-of-the-phoenix. I'd name more, but it might take up too much of this...

=xMyo-Sen-Kaibax has the capability to really improve with her art--but this is countered with her entitled bitch attitude towards art for her.

!floranaturefairy/~SailorMercury90 is someone I'm less optimistic about, and her tendency to be stubborn and never change is irritating. Also, so the snark article happened, so what?

Can someone explain to me why people are so fucking sensitive these days? Is it something in the water? Seriously man. I'd like to know why people are compelled to DELETE EVERYTHING ZOMG instead of acting like a mature and responsible person and either ignoring it or oh, I don't know, rising above it.

Really, people, it's not hard to get a thicker skin about it.

In a related rant, people really need to not be so close-minded and unwilling to change. Writing the same Mary-Sues for years is not impressing, nor will you get me to care about them.

Also.

NEWSFLASH: NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LOVE YOU, DID YOU KNOW THAT? Also, the proper response to people not liking you is not "I HOPE THEY GET WHAT'S COMING TO THEM BECAUSE HOW DARE THEY NOT LIKE ME I AM PERFECT IN EVERY WAY" Honestly, people need to grow the fuck up and take that stick out of their asses. And how on earth do people walk around with an ego that big? Are they gonna tell me I'm just jealous next?

IN NON RANTY NEWS: Pressure sensitivity on tablets is awesome!

Also, can people suggest art programs? I always love trying new ones out. So far I've played with Photoshop, GIMP, Paint.Net, Paint Tool Sai (which is my current favorite), Art Rage, and NekoPaint. I can't use OpenCanvas, sadly. :<
